Fair Gives College Bound Girls Chance to Win it Big!

Perris, CA- Crazy contests, community events, fair participation mixed with lots of fun – must be the Farmer’s Daughters Scholarship Program. “It’s been a tradition at the Southern California Fair for decades. The contestants participate in all types of activities while vying for the opportunity to win a scholarship,” says Vince Agnifili, Fair CEO.  Thousands of scholarship dollars are up for grabs.

The contests are always a favorite part of the competition. One of the most anticipated challenges has to be the tractor driving. For some girls, it’s their first experience driving anything. Chamber mixers, rotary meetings and other community events are just some of the local gatherings contestants may attend, representing the fair. Of course being a good will ambassador during the fair is always fun too.

This year’s deadline is fast approaching. So if you are a female student age 16-19 (as of 10-1-06), live in Riverside County, are planning on attending college or a trade school and are up for some good old fashioned fun, this contest is for you! Applications are due in the fair office no later than August 17th.  Get an application and complete set of rules by contacting Merci at 951-657-4221 or email merci@socalfair.com. Interviews for accepted applicants will tentatively be held on August 24th.

The 2006 Southern California Fair is set to “Rev up the Fun” October 7-15 and will be held at the Lake Perris Fairgrounds.
