Plans are underway for the 2006 Southern California Fair. “We are very excited as this year’s fair is shaping up. Fairgoers will see some new shows, some old favorites and even a few surprises this year,” commented Vince Agnifili, Fair CEO. “Rev Up the Fun” is the theme and the fair board is putting it in gear as the starting line fast approaches.

Monster Truck Shows, Sprint Car Races, The Amateur National Super Cross Championship and of course the demolition derbies are all in the line up as the fair celebrates motor sports.  “Turkey Races will be back too. We couldn’t spotlight motor sports and racing without our feathered friends. It gives a whole new meaning to emissions control,” said Michael Searle, Entertainment Coordinator. The entertainment roster will also include pig races, Hypnotist Suzy Haner, Skip Banks the Balloon Man and many more.

Of course you can’t do it all on an empty tank. Fuel up with great food. Corn dogs, funnel cakes, barbeque and cotton candy are all on the menu. Don’t forget about all the shopping! Widgets, what-nots and the must-haves will all be for sale. Thrills your thing? Butler Amusements will be on hand to provide thrill seekers of all ages with carnival rides. From white-knuckle extreme rides to the merry-go-round, everyone is sure to have a great time.

The popular Concert Series is being tuned up and getting ready to hit the track with another great line-up. Watch the website as headliners are announced. Southern California’s own The Doo Wah Riders will perform their brand of country music nightly, Monday, October 9th through Sunday, October 15th. The Community Stage will be lit up with local performers all 9 days of the fair. If you have an act and are interested in performing, contact Sharon at 951-551-2144.

If you’re not the sit on the sidelines kind of person, you will want to pick up a copy of the Entry Handbook and enter an exhibit in the fair. Be it a photograph, a computer designed poster, a painting, a cake, a pie, an afghan or a woodcarving, get your best together and compete against the best for top prize.
